Sticks Diagnostics & Healthcare Training Center provides professional respirator fit testing services for individuals, healthcare workers, employers, contractors, and organizations required to use tight-fitting respirators in the workplace.

Respirator fit testing helps confirm that a respirator forms a proper seal to the wearer’s face before use. OSHA requires fit testing before initial use, whenever a different respirator make/model/size is used, and at least annually thereafter for employees required to wear tight-fitting respirators.

A qualitative fit test uses an OSHA-accepted test agent to determine whether the wearer can detect leakage around the respirator seal. OSHA’s accepted qualitative protocols include agents such as saccharin or Bitrex, depending on the method used.
